[as always, photos follow this summary]
= Sunday, I was up early, not thinking clearly; I was ready to leave for church, but this is General Conference Weekend. Worldwide, members prepare to take in almost ten hours of thought-provoking instruction in how to follow Christ more effectively so we can gain and share joy with others and be a little bit more like Him. Fortunately, I listened to Steph and confirmed that even though church here would not be at the same time as conference sessions, no service was being held today.
= Two thoughts from yesterday: We can be spiritually whole even while we wait for other healing. We cannot change the past, but God can heal the past.
= At the Morgans, we and others watched the Saturday Evening session of Conference (from yesterday), ate together - I had brought a meal with eight cups of cooked rice, shredded "spam", mixed vegetables, and various seasonings - and then the Sunday Morning session. One thought: As we practice covenant living together, we prepare ourselves and others to be people who will be comfortable in God’s presence.
= Monday, President Morgan announced that the entire mission will get Cholera vaccines tomorrow! Three medical districts agreed to help us tomorrow as long as the activity takes place before their report is due tomorrow. Technically, today was their last day to administer this oral vaccine door-to-door.
= Tuesday, we were at the semi-finished Elmina chapel. Steph gave a spirited demonstration of Cholera symptoms to watch for: runny, white diarrhea; frequent vomiting; and body aches. She cautioned that cholera can kill in hours. Everyone in our group took the vaccine.
= Wednesday we worked from home. We got new International Driving Permits on line. We have been blessed that no one has asked to see ours lately; they expired more than a month ago. [ouch]
= Thursday, technicians came to work on plumbing and air conditioning issues. Steph's work was hindered when for most of the day, Microsoft accidentally blocked the use of family subscriptions for Office 365.
= Friday, the power dropped at about 1030, but not until after a load of laundry I had started had finished. We worked at the office, but even that was hindered when its generator cut in and out. Steph managed to print tomorrow's handouts for her class. We dropped off our generator's battery at the "Battery Doctor" to be charged.
= Home, we watched the Sunday Afternoon session of General Conference. One thought: When you succumb to temptation, don’t fall into the second temptation: the temptation to hide from your faith community and from God. You will find it harder to come back.
= We watched Star Trek - Next Generation; we relaxed.
= Saturday with Steph driving, we made it to the Hemang chapel before 1000 for District training. The Campbells did a very short review of things to consider when preparing to go to the temple for the first time and for each time. Then we separated for classes. Sister Dimmick led a session for Young Women leaders. Steph led a session for Primary. I had led the Sunday School session six months ago; this time, District leaders handled it on their own. [grin]

David Butler and Grace Freeman
Recent quote from President Freeman: “The Lord will show up and stand by you, and He will bless you where you are standing,” she said. “He will meet you where you are, but He won’t leave you there. He will bring you to a better place — a place of happiness and joy.”

I've just replaced the filters.
By the way, how do they stack those plastic beverage crates in the background that high?
Sunday on Monday (scripture discussion) is good..
But its download often stutters and has to be repeated for segments.

And, they didn't have what we were looking for today.
The Campbells doing a brief overview of preparation to attend the temple; they have an interpreter at the microphone.
Elder Campbell commenting during training of Sunday School Presidencies. He's holding the training document I created and used six months ago. This time, we're on the periphery; the class is being handled by a local leader.
This can make for an uncomfortable moment.
"Martyism": my supposition is that the white mounds are decomposing diapers and that the drums aren't being recycled because they were used to transport them. We have seen that diapers are disposed of separately instead of being burned with the rest of the trash in a dump. And we daily see drums being queued for recycling, but not these.

The stool is so you can set your wares down for sale, then not have to stoop far to set the container back on your head.
Galatians 6:7-8 - Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
