= Sunday after the Sacrament session, Steph taught Branch members how to prepare for their temple visit, coming next weekend! She went over practical things, such as not bringing young children unless they are there to be sealed to you as a family.
= Members who are going to receive their endowments will promise to afterward wear a religious garment under their outer clothing day and night; some of the questions Steph received were very specific as to what activities you might remove them for. For one of the questions, Steph's response was the counsel we received from then-Stake President Eric Boswell when we met with him to be married in the temple fourteen years ago.
= Monday, we had the usual weekly meetings. I paid some bills and updated my documentation for financial procedures. At 5, we bought snacks, then watched Don't Miss This (scripture discussion). I did back and arm exercises; Steph used her stretch strap with loops. Then I focused on making the mission's Twi manual easier to use and completely editable. (Today, it is a composite of two documents, one for which we only have a poorly scanned image.)
= Tuesday, seeing the weekly clean bicycle videos, I was saddened to note that many of the bicycles are not rideable, and I won't be able to shuttle them around for repairs until the new office couple arrives. With Elder Barilleau, I performed MoMo (pay via phone) transactions and documented the process. President Morgan thanked me for my effort in updating the Twi manual and said he’d have a native speaker go through it when it's ready for publication.
= Home, Steph rehydrated beef substitute and breaded and fried it. We had that with a packet of Knorr Garlic Pasta and Mozzarella cheese. I got my arm exercise for the day, grating five pounds of that cheese into quart bags to be frozen. When the power dropped, the Elders next door tried to use the generator, but the technician who serviced it must have disconnected something. The outage didn't last long.
= Wednesday, I did personal and mission stuff from home in the morning. An Office Elder had driven too close to a drainage ditch and popped the tire getting out; blessedly, they had a spare and the tools to change it. Steph was dizzy, so I left her home and went in at 1100. I filled an imprest and updated finance instructions. Home, I breaded and fried local spam (chicken-based), served with rice, dark soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, fig jam, and a little sugar. Crispy: good. More finance instructions. Yoga. Journal. Twi with Quizlet.
= Thursday, we rode with other missionaries in a van to Takoradi, about three hours away, to renew non-citizen Ghana Cards. The card office moved quickly today, the Office Elders' estimate of when to provide food was spot on, and we were at the edge of Cape Coast before 2.
= Making supper tonight, Steph narrowly escaped serious injury. Doing multiple things at once, her arm hit the handle of the frying pan, dumping hot oil to the floor and the footstool that I park by the range. Blessedly, she jumped back so quickly that the oil didn’t reach her!
= Friday, I processed invoices. Mid-day, we picked up medication for missionaries. Today was the Barilleaus' wedding anniversary, but they had things they wanted to get done at the office. We went to Lemon Lounge for date night. Netflix. We relaxed after 0030.
= Saturday, I swept and mopped the floor and brushed off the rugs. (We'll have the Barilleaus over tomorrow.) Internet quit; out of data. We tried to buy, but the router didn't receive the confirmation code fast enough for us to complete the transaction. Steph finished reinforcing and marking special rulers she planned to use when making clothes. I transcribed Twi definitions for use in the Twi primer.
= For dinner, I made pancakes from scratch and eggs. Success! I used my phone as a hotspot long enough to download the unsent journal entries to the laptop for editing.
Steph, providing practical tips to members who will visit the temple this coming week for the first time. (We had already discussed spiritual aspects in previous weeks.)

Firewood; most rural people use firewood; well-to-do use propane. The building on the left seems to be a community bathroom.
{God's hands are in you}
The small building straight ahead on the way to church a place for people to wash themselves (with a bucket) in privacy).
This horse probably strayed from Kakum National Park, where is featured for photo ops and kiddie rides.
Partial repairs to the ditch below our compound. At least one tire has to be in this dip. That puts a running board in conflict with the ground (and does it to the other running board when switching directions).
The Ola chapel is augmented with solar power; a few rooms are air conditioned, but the chapel and most rooms rely on overhead fans as usual.
This load of tiles is ruined. Steph imagined that the driver went to lunch before calling his boss because he wouldn't have a job afterward.
Snapfinger/Pizza World. Their pizza has lots of cheese, and they have good beverages (at least on the menu); we enjoyed pizza and orange soda here months ago. Why "Snapfinger"? It's a form of applause.
Cement has been poured over dirt to hold it back so another building can be placed below the first one.
Love for all - Hatred for none
(cell phone accessories, and apparently T-shirts)
{God is the Righteous}
Work is being done on the Cape Coast breakwater. We hope the work doesn't encroach on the places where fishers pull boats and nets up onto the sand.
The Lemon Lounge logo on the ceiling is painted in reverse to support selfies at the entrance. Note, though, that I'm right-handed, not left-handed.
