= Sunday, we arrived at church slightly late, but it started late. Summary. God wants us to become the kind of person He is so we can enjoy each other's company for eternity. Key to that is the freedom to act wisely and seek Jesus' atonement for our mistakes while we learn and mature.
= Monday, Sister Tachie-Menson and Sister Rebecca bought frozen food, or food to be placed in the large chest freezer procured for that purpose. They went to fish markets in Elmina; we don't know where they bought the frozen meat. The mission now has enough to feed more than 180 people for a short period, and this storage will be rotated as part of buffet meals for transfers and zone conferences.
= Home, there are fewer than 100 words for which I don't have at least provisional definitions for, out of 1500 used in the Twi manual.
= Tuesday, I blogged. It was Sister Tachie-Menson's birthday, and we accepted a dinner invitation. President Tachie-Menson needed to talk. Not about stuff important to the mission, just talk. He provided his impression of other parts of Ghana and of Nigeria; he had served in Nigeria.
= Home, trying to work one switch for a set of outside lights tripped TWO breakers. We kept our commitment to sing for a half hour and discovered that you can lose this gift by not using it.
= Wednesday, we inspected Nitranoa and Komenda apartments and dropped off bikes and helmets at Komenda. Heading home, we stopped at the Elmina Shell for sandwiches for now and later. Home, Steph opened all the windows, and we left things that way until after nightfall.
= Thursday, we swapped bicycles and helmets at Otuam; the road was so bad at one point that when they called to check on our progress, they could tell exactly where we were by the violent movements of the truck. Heading home, we had delicious squid (cooked) from a vehicle-side vendor. We finished them (one each) just before reaching the house: better than ice cream. The grid marks from roasting them had made them look like pastry, which is why we shunned them for more than a year before finally trying them.
= An electrician temporarily fixed a cross-connection behind the switch that had tripped the breakers. After nightfall, trying the switch popped only one breaker: an improvement.
= Friday, after the weekly meeting, I sent vehicle issues to the fleet manager. When I learned there were goats behind the office, I went to look, and re-tied them farther from the building so they wouldn't interfere with guard rest and bicycle repair. Before we left at 2:30 to meet with the electrician, one of the goats, maybe both, had already been harvested.
= The electrician moved one of the larger lights to a second switch. We picked up KFC and ate that while watching The Union, then Star Trek - Next Generation. We relaxed.
= Saturday, our old generator was returned and directly wired to the house instead of running the power through a jack on the front of the device. It worked well. The other generator was moved into the garage of the Big House (next door) for storage.

Road trip four years ago to an historic site; Emily Freeman is the mother of Grace Freeman, the current co-host.
I miss the Super Pack, but we haven't seen it for sale recently. The regular pack is only a little over half the size of the Super pack..
It appears that more room was needed around the building being built across from the Audit agency on our "road".
[Possibly intended: Nhyira Ɔba No {Bless the Son}]
Gye Nyame {Receive God}
This is the compound.
Thinking I could see light shining through what looked like windows, I was fascinated by this truck. The red reflectors are hinged at the top so they hang down when the rear is opened.
Cement, sand, and cellulose are combined to make fiber-reinforced cement sheets for roofing.
Ahead..
Zechariah 4:6, 9 - Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house [rebuilding the temple]; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
likely Yesu Mogya Tumi Woma {The Blood of Jesus Power Gives}
The "P" stands for Provisional. After three months as a new driver, you can swap your "L" (Learner) plate for a Provisional plate. At the twelve-month point, you can remove the Provisional plate if you've had no accidents.
Ɛgya Yɛ Sunsum {Father Is Spirit}
Not just spirit. Hebrews 1:1-3 - 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
Seagoing canoes; how they don't flounder in the waves that they're riding parallel with mystifies me..
Ɛbɛ boa wo {It will help you}
Ɔbɛ boa wo {He will help you} seems more logical
This building is graced with a gate over which is a stylized seagoing canoe. The vehicle in front is for a driving school.
Exodus 3:13-14 - And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.
Still a mystery to me; it appears to be involved with large trucks only. The sign is missing a letter: _ J V Superstore.
The pickup driver has to negotiate with the oncoming motorcyclist, who can't duck to the shoulder for long without hitting the fruit stand.
Amen
Our helpers who delivered and hooked up our old generator, and moved the old one to the Big House to store it
Because it's running quietly and well, not shaking and moving around, it will stay in this position so I can easily avoid the toilet pit to its left.
